What’s the purpose of M&R's Rasta Bars and when should they be used?

Unlike Central Off-Contact, which changes the height of all pallets simultaneously, M&R's Rasta Bars are a color-coded set of steel shims that can be used to change off-contact on individual printheads.

This is especially beneficial in setting up a job that requires high ink buildup (high density & certain gels) when only one screen needs to be adjusted. The advantage of Rasta Bars is that you don’t have to change the off-contact; but instead place the appropriate Rasta Bar or combination of Rasta Bars on the front and rear frame holders before loading your screen.

When you’re finished, remove the Rasta Bars to return the print head back to its original setting. This approach helps maintain overall press calibration.
