What’s better: dual cure emulsions or photopolymer emulsions?
Which ever one works best for your application. They are both excellent products that have a lot going for them. Let’s look at the plusses and minuses of each one.
Dual Cure plusses:
- Great resistance to a wide range of solvent based inks.
- Very good resolution.
- Very wide exposure latitude.
- Usually supplied in high solids above 30%.
- Easily reclaims.
Dual cure negatives:
- Short shelf life- once it’s mixed you must use it within 4 weeks.
- Can stain the mesh
Dual Cure plusses:
- Same as the dual cure emulsions except that it costs more.
- Has a very long shelf life of over one year. If you use your emulsion fast (under a month) shelf life isn’t an issue.
