SCREEN PRINTERS don’t always see themselves as salespeople. We’re known for our craft, quality and hustle — not for pitching products. So when shop owners ask me how to sell more, they’re usually hoping for a tactic: a script, a tool, a clever line that unlocks the next deal.
Here’s the thing. There’s no single tactic. But there is a set of habits the best shops I work with share. The ones growing quarter over quarter aren’t the ones with the lowest quotes or the fastest presses. They’re the ones with a process.

Urgency rarely comes from price. It comes from timelines.
Events, fundraisers, tournaments, company rollouts — they all have immovable deadlines. Once you’ve nailed down the in-hands date, you’ve got your strongest lever:
“With your in-hands date coming up, we’ll want to get this into production soon to ensure we stay on track.”
That’s not pressure. That’s operational reality. And if there’s no defined in-hands date? That’s a red flag — and an opportunity. Push to establish one early in the sales process. Deals without deadlines drift.
