How do I stop my screens from drying-in during printing?

Screen dry in is caused by solvent evaporation and can be minimized by adding a slow thinner (retarder) to the ink and printing as quickly as possible. It is also important to flood the image area with a medium pressure flood stroke to drive the ink down into the stencil gasket immediately after finishing the print stroke. The screen should never be left un-flooded. Moving air should not be permitted to pass over the screen such as a fan or an open door. Air in motion accelerates solvent evaporation. We also sell a gel retarder, CARE 53 that can help in preventing this condition.
