Awnings, Graphically Speaking

Awnings, like signs and digital graphics, have evolved tremendously through the years to become an integral component of architecture and branding. They have the ability to blend the two together uniquely and beautifully. Add print and graphics to them and they now also become an extension of brand, signage and display. Awnings have always possessed the functions of shade and protection. However, the list of qualities and characteristics attributed to them today is growing as they present opportunities for graphics to the point of becoming an often preferred method for branding while maintaining their architectural features. Developers, particularly in retail and quick service restaurants (QSR), are applying graphic-covered awnings to their store fronts as a primary means of drawing attention, adding ornamental detail and extending their brand. They are building impressions.
