Nazdar to showcase latest inks for industrial applications at InPrint 2016

Nazdar Ink Technologies will demonstrate its comprehensive range of inks at InPrint – the industrial print show – taking place in Milan, Italy in November.
The event will showcase a wealth of technology for industrial print applications – and Nazdar manufactures the ideal inks to meet every need. As well as demonstrations of its very latest formulations of digital inkjet, screen printing and flexographic inks, key representatives from Nazdar will be present throughout the event (Stand E30) to advise visitors on the best ink for their requirements.
Nazdar will be featuring its UV inkjet inks for single pass industrial and direct to shape applications. The NWIJ ink sets are designed for a wide variety of flat substrates, processing speeds, applications and curing technologies, while the direct to shape (D2S) ink sets are designed for glass and plastic containers.

Using UV-Cure Inks with Difficult Substrates

Using UV-Cure Inks with Difficult Substrates

Printing with UV-cure inks is a great solution for many printing situations. However, there are some difficult substrates, such as plastics, metals and glass, where adhesion may be poor or non-existent. Many plastics have low-energy surfaces that actually repel inks; metals may have oils in them from the manufacturing process; and glass/ceramics are just too hard and non-porous for just about anything to stick.

A Safety Guide to UV Ink

A Safety Guide to UV Ink

Sign and print shops are increasingly using UV-cure type inkjet printers for printing onto rigid substrates and other applications. It’s a good idea to review some of the safety concerns of these inks and the safeguards that should be put into place. UV-curable inks are very reactive materials and are classified as hazardous. They must be dealt with carefully to prevent injury.

Printing inks and migration: The challenges of printing onto food and cosmetic packaging

Printing inks and migration: The challenges of printing onto food and cosmetic packaging

Materials that come in contact with sensitive contents must fulfill strict legal requirements to guarantee the safety of foods or cosmetics and, in turn, consumers´ health and wellbeing. This includes provisions governing the transfer of substances from the FCM into the food or cosmetic product. This transfer of substances (migration) is only permitted in quantities that do not endanger human health, change the food´s composition or negatively impact the food´s organoleptic characteristics (like taste or smell).

The risk of substances migrating from the printed to the unprinted side of a so-called „contact material“ into the content like foodstuff or cosmetics must be considered before the conformity of a material can be estimated.

There are different types of migration:
