The humble banner is about the most common sign application in today’s sign shop. But a good banner requires more than scrim vinyl and an inkjet printer. After printing, most banners require some form of edge finishing, and, in most cases some way to hang or display the banner must be provided. Here are some options:

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but when you want to showcase a unique benefit of a new product and have only seconds to do it, two images may be better than one — provided they’re expertly designed and executed to do the job. Solutions Group (www.kdmpop.com) was asked to create a shelf wobbler to support the launch of Banana Boat’s new SunComfort Sunscreen, the challenge was to communicate that sand easily brushes off the person wearing the product, differentiating it from other sunscreens, at the store level.

Digital printing technology has improved rapidly, and as a result, it’s merged and diversified industries so that screen printers are now offering digital printing and sign shops are able to offer apparel. We saw this type of industry adaptation happen with the emergence of eco-solvent printers, and we can see it now with dye-sublimation printers.
