Embracing the Best Methods for Curing

The uptake and popularity of UV-LED curing ink has been increasing over the past decade to a point where we can now say it is the ink of the moment. Businesses specializing in inkjet, screen, and narrow-web printing have embraced LED (light emitting diode) curing technology for its lifecycle cost, environmental, and versatility benefits compared to mercury lamps can, and have, created outstanding graphics and displays as a result.

LED vs Traditional UV Curing

LED vs Traditional UV Curing

Nazdar's UV-LED inks have been specifically formulated to cure at 395 nanometers (nm). In general, UV-LED systems have a tolerance range of +/-5 nm and an nm output curve that is relatively narrow but spans approximately +/- 15 nm. The initiators selected for UV-LED inks target this range, but are also reactive outside this range. This means that UV-LED inks should be reactive to both UV-LED and mercury vapor curing systems. This may vary to some degree depending on the specific ink's color and pigment load.

The Growing Pains of Industrial Inkjet

The Growing Pains of Industrial Inkjet

Throughout 2016 InPrint Show ran a number of surveys, panels and seminar sessions with the aim of sharing insightwith the inkjet and manufacturing community to promote growth in industrial printing.

What is clear from all of the information, the speed of growth within industrial printing is fast outpacing other traditional print segments. For example, results from the recent InPrint Décor Survey suggest that growth is expected to be well over 10% with many (nearly 40%) believing growth to be in excess of 15% per annum. The industry is busy and buoyant, however there remains challenges for technology and commercial development, because where there is growth, there are bound to be growing pains

InPrint 2016 shows evolution of inkjet for Nazdar Ink Technologies

Stockport, UK - Nazdar Ink Technologies says InPrint 2016 demonstrated the development of inkjet printing technology as visitors 'came with more answers than questions'.

Held in Milan's MiCo from November 15th to 17th 2016, InPrint was an opportunity for ink expert Nazdar to spend time with existing partners – who range from OEMs to technology enablers specialising in print heads, software, RIPs and ink supply systems – and to discuss potential projects with new contacts.

It was also a chance to check on the health of the industrial printing market, for which Nazdar develops industrial, screen, flexo and digital inks. According to Keith Nixon, Sales Director (EMEA) for Nazdar Ink Technologies, InPrint has been a barometer for the evolution and adoption of inkjet inks in particular.
