Think it can be printed cheaper? Let Roland DG prove you wrong

Think it can be printed cheaper? Let Roland DG prove you wrong

As the number one manufacturer of wide format print and print & cut devices worldwide, Roland DG has a reputation for always being ahead of the curve.

With the launch of the next generation of professional SOLJET printers - the introduction of the SOLJET EJ-640, Roland DG’s latest solution for intense production printing - that trait was once again assured.

With running costs an important factor in any print shop, the introduction of a lower-cost printer that could produce up to 10x the amount of work sounds too good to be true. The SOLJET EJ-640 Challenge gives Roland DG the chance to provide customers with physical proof, in the form of a printed banner, that it can be done cheaper. Full VersaWorks Dual calculations will also be provided, with time, cost and ink usage all in plain black and white.

Graphic Designer Martin Charles Uses His Talents and Roland Wide-Format Printer to Ensure Viewers Believe in Ghostbusters

rvine, Calif., July 14, 2016 – Ghostbusters – a 2016 reboot of the classic 1984 supernatural action/comedy film – is set to open nationwide this Friday, July 15. In the new version, an all-female ghost-busting team (Melissa McCarthy, Kristin Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones) take on a massive number of slimy ghosts and ghouls threatening to take over New York City. In addition to all the CGI movie magic needed to bring these creepy characters to life, making the sets look real was a monumental task. To help bring the set to life, the film’s producers called on graphic designer Martin Charles. Using his considerable talents and his Roland wide-format printer, Charles gave an authentic look to everything from faux building walls and surface textures to the street signs, labels and bottles in the Ghostbusters’ lab.

Flatbed Technology Scores Big for Ministicks.com/Illostrative Gallerie

Flatbed Technology Scores Big for Ministicks.com/Illostrative Gallerie

Robbie Illos-Gerth runs two successful businesses in Buffalo, New York. Ministicks.com sells miniature custom printed hockey sticks, baseball bats and sports memorabilia, and Illostrative Gallerie designs and produces logos and marketing collateral for businesses and ad agencies.

An experienced graphic designer, Robbie launched her digital production with a Roland VersaCAMM 30-inch wide-format printer/cutter.  She later added a second VersaCAMM, the VS-540i, with metallic and clear inks.
Until recently, Robbie had been outsourcing direct printing, but the expense, quality control and time sensitivity led her to consider adding a flatbed printer.  She knew she needed high volume production at high quality, and the ability to print durable images directly on non-traditional materials.
