The Bucket Scoop D2 Lid Remover is the safer, cleaner alternative to cutting or pulling ink bucket lids off. The tool is designed for 1 & 2 gallon buckets, and works for wide and narrow lid-bucket gaps.
For buckets with wide lid-bucket gaps (see video for demonstration):
- Place the Jaw in the lid-bucket gap.
- Squeeze the handles. The tool works as "anti pliers," opening as you squeeze.
- Work around the bucket, squeezing intermittently.
- Once popped off, remove the lid. The lid can later be hammered back onto the bucket for safe storage.
The tool also works for narrow gaps; simply use the side Jaw, working the tool up and down to pry the lid open (see video for demonstration).
The Bucket Scoop D2 Lid Remover is available at Nazdar SourceOne.

In general, backlit images are meant to be viewed only when a light source is behind the image. Occasionally however, you may need to create a backlit image that can be viewed when face-lit with natural light in the daytime, and also at night when the image is illuminated from behind. The problem is that a print that looks good when backlit needs to have a heavy ink load. It needs to be dark and dense to compensate for strong backlighting. But that same print will look terrible in a front-lit application. Here are some tips to get around the problem.
